A Registered Holistic Nutritionist or R.H.N. educates individuals about the health benefits of natural nutrition. Holistic nutrition is a combination of modern science and time-tested wisdom based on the philosophy that each person has unique nutritional requirements. I typically evaluate my client’s nutritional needs by identifying symptoms that indicate health imbalances. I then provide individualized health plans, which include nutrient-dense whole foods, lifestyle recommendations, natural source herbs and/or supplements in order to help bring my client’s health back to a state of equilibrium.
An R.H.N. does not diagnose dis-ease, we simply provide information and support to address imbalances within the body and lifestyle to obtain optimal wellness. I work on an individual basis with my clients to optimize mental and physical health through diet and lifestyle. The connection between body, mind and spirit is an integral and important part of wellness. It is scientifically demonstrated that our state of mind and spiritual wellbeing affect our physical health. By assessing the whole person including their emotions, environment, nutrition, and daily habits, balance can be restored. Using clean, natural foods and products as well as practicing a life of moderation is central to this healing process. Our bodies want to be healthy, and they work very hard to maintain balance everyday. Unfortunately in today's society, we don’t always give our bodies what they need to do the job. Imbalance can occur from living and working in a toxic environment, dealing with a high stress lifestyle and from not eating enough nutrient dense foods. The happy side effect of providing your body with what it needs to function better, is that often chronic health conditions can greatly improve or even be eliminated altogether.
