You'll usually find Dieticians working in more clinical settings such as hospitals, public health, community health centers, long term care and food service. Dieticians are educated in food and nutrition and counsel their clients on healthy eating habits and nutritional issues. They generally follow the traditional food pyramid set out by the government. They use the Canada's Food Guide and calorie requirement to make recommendations. Dieticians don't usually explore the link between diet and dis-ease.

Thanks for the tricky question ;). I would like to say that I can heal the world, but really, my job is to educate you on ways to improve your own health. It really depends on your present health status, if you're currently on medication etc.
There is a place for modern medications when someone has a life threatening illness or condition. Most of us did not become ill overnight so using natural strategies to improve health does take time, and medications can be a helpful bridge until you address the root cause of the dis-ease. I always encourage clients to keep their family physican up to date regarding all natural strategies they are using. Often if a client is on medication, their need for it decreases as their body systems become more functional and health improves. If you are not currently on medication (even better), and your doctor gives you the ok to try holistic nutrition first to correct imbalances and reduce your symptoms, I'm happy to help you in any way that I can. :) Eating well and leading a healthy lifestyle is always beneficial no matter what.
